5G-6G AI Literature Review

I need a comprehensive, academically-rigorous literature review that explores how artificial intelligence applications are shaping, optimising, and redefining 5G and upcoming 6G networks. The end goal is to submit this review as part of a larger research project, so depth, critical insight, and flawless citation practices are essential.

Scope Please work exclusively with peer-reviewed papers, conference proceedings, and recognised standards bodies from roughly the past five years, anchoring the discussion around core AI-driven capabilities such as intelligent resource allocation, network slicing, self-optimising networks, beam management, and edge intelligence. I’m less interested in algorithmic derivations and more in how those algorithms are being applied within the wireless stack and what measurable impact they have on latency, reliability, energy efficiency, and spectral efficiency.

Tone & Structure Write in an objective academic voice, weaving together a clear narrative that highlights the current state of the art, identifies consensus versus ongoing debate, and pinpoints research gaps worth pursuing. Evidence must be cited using the IEEE style and supported by quantitative results wherever the literature provides them.

Deliverables • 6,000–8,000-word literature review in Word format • Annotated bibliography (IEEE) listing every source consulted • Summary table mapping each AI application to its demonstrated benefits, limitations, and open challenges

Acceptance criteria The document must be plagiarism-free (checked), logically organised with headings that reflect the main themes, and accompanied by the complete citation list. All figures or tables must be properly referenced and formatted for direct inclusion in an academic manuscript.
