SharePoint Folder Map in Excel
Description
Budget: $250 - $750
I need a precise, one-off snapshot of our existing SharePoint document library captured in an Excel workbook. Only the folder and subfolder names are required—no individual file names—laid out as a flat list with clear indentation so users can instantly read the hierarchy or run a quick Ctrl + F search.
You’ll receive read-only access to the library. From there, use whatever method you prefer (PowerShell, SharePoint REST API, manual crawl, etc.) to list every top-level folder and all nested child folders. Each row should represent one folder, with indentation or outline level showing its depth. I’d also like simple supporting columns such as Library, Full Path, Folder Name, and Level so we can filter or sort later in Microsoft 365 without compatibility prompts.
Acceptance criteria • All current folders and subfolders are present—nothing missed, nothing duplicated. • Indentation accurately reflects the nesting. • Workbook opens cleanly in the latest Excel with no warnings. • If you hit any restricted areas, tell me right away so I can arrange temporary access.
Once complete, send back the Excel file and a brief note on the tool or script you used (just for my records). That’s it—straightforward deliverable, but it has to be 100 % accurate because this sheet becomes the master reference for everyone on the team.
