Heartfelt Letter to a Friend

Deadline: 2026-04-04

Description

Budget: $30 - $250

I'm looking for a talented writer to craft a heartfelt personal letter to a friend. This letter should convey deep emotions, cherished memories, and genuine sentiments. She is, unfortunately, an avoidant. But she leaned into our friendship and everything was fine until I had to have surgery and she got scared. But saying she was scared would have meant admitting how much she cared about me, and if she admitted that then there was the risk of loss. She couldn’t. So she withdrew. This letter is meant to be my truth — because a relationship has a shared record and right now the only “story” being told is her silence from fear. It is also meant to show her that there is more than one outcome possible.

I have the beginning of the letter — opening, my childhood and a bit of my adulthood. You can see how I write and I’ve attached a few other letters I’d written to her over the years.

The outline of the letter is pretty simple:

  1. Opening (there’s more than one outcome)
  2. My childhood
  3. My adulthood
  4. What she meant to me (she was my witness, my person)
  5. That I saw her clearly and was blown away by her bravery and so incredibly proud of her
  6. That I was hurt, but she left an imprint that made my recovery so much less daunting
  7. Closing: that the story she’s always told herself, that she hurts people and so love leads to loss, isn’t always true. She didn’t ruin anything. She didn’t lose me. I’m still here. I am the literal different outcome.

Requirements:

  • Experience in personal letter writing
  • Ability to express emotions eloquently
  • Excellent writing skills with a heartfelt tone
