Project Brief: Design of a Rotomoulded 3-Compartment LLDPE Container.
We are looking to hire a freelance product design engineer or industrial design firm to help us develop a 1000-liter, square-shaped, rotomoulded container made from LLDPE. The project will be milestone based.
The container will be used for fluid handling and needs to meet the following specifications: Key Design Requirements
- Material: LLDPE, manufactured via rotational moulding.
- Dimensions: Approx. 4ft × 4ft × 2.5ft (L × W × H).
- Compartments: 3 compartments created using 2 removable partitions.
- Lid: Airtight and removable.
- Stackability: Containers should nest into each other (without lids) for efficient storage and transport.
- Burial Capability: Designed to be buried in the soil.
- Flow Design: Integrated input and output pipes for gravity-based water flow. Structural Optimization: Incorporate ribs and geometry to maximize strength-to-weight ratio while minimizing material usage.
Deliverables Expected: CAD drawings and 3D models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) FEA or structural analysis for rib design and wall thickness Manufacturing-ready design for rotomoulding BOM and material specifications
Optional: Prototype support or vendor coordination
