Grant Writer for Homeless Nonprofit
Description
Budget: $15 - $25/hr
I’m preparing to launch a community-services nonprofit focused on homeless support and now need well-targeted grant funding to cover our start-up essentials—office supplies and furniture, program materials, transportation, technology and software, a suitable building, and early working capital.
What I need from you is a complete, submission-ready grant package. That includes researching funders that align with homelessness initiatives, crafting a compelling narrative that highlights our impact goals, and building a clear budget that shows exactly how each dollar will move us from concept to on-the-ground service.
Deliverables • Shortlist of grant opportunities with deadlines and fit rationale • One master grant proposal (can be adapted for multiple funders) • Any supporting attachments or forms (logic model, letters of support, IRS docs, etc.)
Acceptance Criteria • Proposal language tailored to homeless-support missions • Budget covers all listed needs and balances correctly • All materials formatted to each funder’s specifications and delivered ready to submit
Experience with community services grants, HUD or Continuum of Care programs, and the common portals (Grants.gov, SAM, Foundation Directory Online) will be a big plus. Let’s secure the funding that lets us open our doors and start serving our community.
