I create entertainment-focused content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and the occasional long-form vlog, but I need an editor who can transform my raw footage into scroll-stopping, studio-quality videos.
Here’s what the job looks like day to day. You’ll receive folders of clips that need to be trimmed, rearranged, and tightened using straight cut transitions to keep the pacing snappy. Once the story flows, layer in standard on-screen subtitles that are easy to read on mobile, add sound design that punches up comedic beats, and finish with tasteful color correction so every frame feels polished yet authentic. The final result should feel native to social media but professional enough to stand out in a crowded feed.
Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve are all fine—as long as the export is crisp and ready for upload in the required aspect ratios (9:16 for short-form, 16:9 for long-form). If you occasionally hop into After Effects for a quick graphic or audio visualizer, that’s a bonus, though not mandatory.
Deliverables for each assignment: • One short-form edit (15–60 seconds) and, when provided, one long-form cut (up to 10 minutes) • SRT or burned-in subtitles using standard text styling • Clean stereo mix with balanced levels and royalty-free music/sfx • Color-graded master file plus a lightly compressed version optimized for online upload
