Description

I have a spreadsheet containing roughly 3,000 lines of business-related transactions and I need every single one reviewed and tagged with an appropriate bookkeeping category. You will receive a small sample file that shows exactly how my data is structured as well as the finished look I expect once categorisation is complete.

Most entries are straightforward business expenses. Because I have no rigid chart of accounts to impose, please apply widely accepted bookkeeping conventions—use clear, intuitive labels for things like office supplies, travel, professional services, subscriptions, etc., and place anything that genuinely defies those buckets into “Miscellaneous expenses.” Accuracy and consistency are more important than speed; every row must be touched and classified.

You are free to work in either Excel or Google Sheets as long as the final deliverable preserves the original order of transactions and adds a new column with your chosen category. I will spot-check totals against my bank feed before sign-off, so please include a short note if any lines seem ambiguous.

Deliverable • Updated spreadsheet with an added “Category” column, fully populated for all ~3,000 rows.
