Qualitative Thematic Analysis Coach
Description
My graduate-level innovation capstone relies on Braun & Clarke’s reflexive inductive thematic analysis, and I need solid methodological guidance— during the data-coding phase, pattern identification, themes development and write up of dissertation sections. The study is already scoped; interviews have been transcribed and anonymised. What’s missing is an experienced qualitative researcher who can walk me through rigorous, transparent analysis and write-up while helping me document decisions in line with XXXX XXXX’s coding principles.
Key areas where your coaching will make the difference • Setting up a defensible coding framework, including first- and second-cycle codes. • Demonstrating live or recorded how you would code one sample transcript, then reviewing my subsequent attempts. • Refining the evolving codebook so that themes remain grounded yet innovative. • Advising on audit-trail practices, reflexive journaling and reliability checks that satisfy academic examiners.
Preferred workflow We can meet on Zoom or Teams for short, focused sessions (30–60 min). Between calls, no NVivo or MAXQDA is included. It’s all manual.
Acceptance criteria for each stage
- Annotated sample transcript demonstrating code application and rationale.
- Reviewed and refined codebook with clear inclusion/exclusion rules.
- Written summary (one page) capturing guidance on next steps and quality-assurance measures.
Once coding is complete, I’ll move on to theme development and pattern identification with your coaching; however, a quick sanity check from you before submission would be a plus.
If you are fluent in Braun & Clarke, and saldana, comfortable with reflexive practices, and have previously coached graduate students, your expertise fits perfectly. Rate: USD 50+/hr Skills: Education & Tutoring, Qualitative Research, Academic Writing, Leadership Development, Zoom
