Compressed File Security Audit

Project-Based

Description

I have a single compressed file that must be stress-tested for security issues. The priorities are clear: uncover any hidden malware and assess whether its encryption or password protection can be broken easily. An automated scanning workflow is preferred—think VirusTotal, ClamAV, YARA rules, or any other proven toolkit you normally rely on—so you can sweep quickly for signatures, anomalous payloads, and weak cryptographic implementation. Manual follow-up is fine if your scan flags something, but the core of the job is a thorough, tool-driven assessment.

Deliverables I expect • A concise report (PDF or Markdown) detailing the tools used, scan results, and evidence of any malware signatures or encryption weaknesses. • Practical remediation or hardening recommendations if vulnerabilities are confirmed. • Confirmation that no data within the archive was altered during testing.

I will provide the file immediately on project start and look forward to your findings. Budget: GBP 20–250 Skills: Web Security, Computer Security, Software Testing, Internet Security, Penetration Testing, Encryption, Security, Automation
