Polish Technical Manual Formatting
Description
I have a draft technical manual that reads well but looks uneven and hard to scan. I’m looking for someone who can step in and impose a clear hierarchy of headings and sub-headings, present code snippets with proper syntax highlighting, and arrange several tables and diagrams so they sit cleanly on the page without breaking the flow of the text.
The source file is currently in Word; if you prefer to move it to Google Docs or another editor that’s fine as long as I receive the final manual back in an editable Word version and a PDF ready for distribution. I will supply all diagrams in SVG and PNG along with the raw code samples—your job is to style, label, and place them consistently.
Key points I care about: • Consistent heading levels that make the table of contents auto-generate correctly • Monospaced, colour-coded blocks for every code example (it’s mostly Python with a little Bash) • Tables that stay within margins on both A4 and US Letter and don’t split awkwardly • Diagrams centred, captioned, and referenced in-text
Deliverables:
- Fully formatted manual (Word + PDF)
- A brief style guide outlining fonts, colour palette, and spacing rules so I can keep future updates consistent.
Please let me know your estimated turnaround time and share a sample of a technical document you’ve formatted before. Rate: GBP 10–15/hr Skills: Python, Technical Writing, Editing, LaTeX, OCR, Word Processing, Google Docs, Technical Documentation, Visual Design, Microsoft Word
