Steel Reinforcement CAD for Padlock
Description
I already have the full internal geometry of my electronic padlock as an STL file and have identified a weak spot just outside the shaft enclosure. I now need a precise reinforcement piece modelled in AutoCAD (or compatible CAD) that focuses only on this area—no changes to the rest of the lock.
The goal is to boost structural integrity while ensuring the new insert can be fabricated first with carbon-filled 3-D printing and later machined or cast in steel. Please:
• Work directly from my STL (I’ll supply it as soon as we agree), • keep all surrounding clearances untouched so the existing mechanism continues to move freely, • respect typical DfAM rules for FDM/SLS printing as well as eventual CNC or metal-casting tolerances, • return clean, watertight geometry in DWG or STEP plus an updated STL for print testing.
I’ll run initial fits on a carbon print; once confirmed, I’ll come back for any micro-adjustments before committing to steel. If you have experience deg small, high-strength inserts for security products, that’s a bonus, but tight, accurate modelling is the priority here.
