PC-Console Custom Modding System

I want a desktop application, running on my Windows PC, that acts as a network bridge to my PlayStation (and sometimes my Xbox) over a direct Ethernet link. Its only goal is gaming enhancement through game-modding: injecting, swapping, and removing custom-content mods without touching the console’s firmware or violating network security.

Here’s what I’m envisioning:

• The PC side hosts a clean GUI where I can browse, enable, disable, and reorder mod packages. Drag-and-drop support for.zip or folder-based mods is a must. • Behind the scenes the tool repackages those assets and streams them to the console, hooking into the game’s file system or memory so changes appear instantly at the next load screen. • Ethernet communication must be rock-solid, with automatic discovery, connection verification, and fall-back prompts if I switch to an Xbox. • I’d like real-time logs displaying transfer status, error details, and a quick-rollback button so I can revert a game to stock files just as quickly.

Development approach C++ or C# for the core would be ideal, but I’m open to Python for ancillary tooling if that accelerates prototyping. Please adhere to platform SDK guidelines and keep everything compliant with Sony/Microsoft terms—no firmware hacking or piracy-related features.

Deliverables

1. Executable installer for Windows 10/11
2. Source code with build instructions
3. README covering supported consoles, mod package format, and Ethernet setup
4. One example “hello world” custom-content mod that proves end-to-end operation

I’ll test by loading that sample mod into a current PlayStation title; the game should recognize the new assets and run without crashes. Once confirmed, we’ll move on to polishing the UI and adding Xbox handshake logic.
