Role Summary
You’ll join the Engineering team at Oyster to drive company-wide efficiency through AI and workflow automation. In this role, you’ll own internal AI automations built primarily with n8n and complementary tools, helping teams reduce manual work, streamline processes, and use AI safely in their day-to-day workflows. While you will mainly rely on n8n’s pre-built nodes, you will also be expected to write custom code whenever standard integrations are not enough.
You’ll design, operate, and continuously improve the automation layer that connects our tools, data, and AI models across the company, with a focus on reliability, scalability, security and long-term sustainability. Working closely with Product, Engineering and Business Units, you’ll turn evolving business needs into secure, compliant, and production-ready automations that scale as Oyster grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive efficiency with AI automations in n8n
- Build, ship, document and improve workflows that connect tools, data, and AI models to automate manual processes across departments.
- Keep automations running smoothly
- Use error handling, retries, alerts, and logging to catch issues early and fix them fast.
- Keep AI reliable and safe to use
- Help teams get consistent AI results while keeping data secure and compliant.
- Make automations usable and sustainable
- Help teams adopt automations and keep them working well as needs change.
- Own internal n8n excellence
- Define best practices and continuously improve how n8n is used across teams.
Core Requirements
- Hands-on experience building automation workflows (n8n or similar tools), with 1–3 years of relevant experience in automation, internal tools, or operations-focused roles
- Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, and data flows between systems
- Experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) in practical workflows (prompting, structured outputs, basic validation)
- Ability to build and debug multi-step workflows with conditional logic
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical partners
- A builder mindset: you enjoy turning manual or repetitive processes into automated workflows
- Familiarity with JavaScript or Python for simple code-based automation steps

- [BONUS] Experience integrating common SaaS tools (e.g., CRM, data, support, or collaboration tools)
