We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Shop team in Oda!
We are looking for a fullstack developer with a frontend focus, but most importantly, someone who enjoys working on web and user experience. You will join the Shop Development team, which is responsible for everything our customers see and use: the online store, apps, marketing tools, notifications, payments, and accounts. This gives you the opportunity to design and build the entire customer journey from start to finish.
In this role, you’ll primarily work on customer-facing web flows, while collaborating with app and backend teams to deliver a smooth, coherent shopping experience. For example, imagine a parent on a busy Tuesday evening: a toddler in one arm, and tomorrow’s dinner to order with the other. The search must work, the cart must feel reliable, and checkout must be easy. Your job is to make that journey smoother, month by month, by shipping, measuring, and iterating on improvements that make the experience more intuitive and dependable.
What you’ll do as a Software Engineer in the Shop team
You’ll take ownership of core web shopping flows, such as browsing, search, product pages, cart, and checkout, and make sure they feel smooth, predictable, and safe for customers. While your main focus is the web, you’ll work closely with iOS, Android, and backend engineers to ensure that behavior, patterns, and concepts are aligned across platforms.
You’ll:
Build and improve customer-facing web flows using modern frontend technology
Reuse and evolve shared patterns so web and apps behave in familiar, coherent ways
Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to turn problems into solutions
Work with APIs and contracts, and make small backend changes yourself when that’s the fastest way to improve the product
Take features from “this might help customers” through shipping, measurement, and iteration
This is not a role where tasks are thrown over the fence; you’ll be involved from discovery to delivery.
What kind of Software Engineer we’re looking for 👩🏼 💻
We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. But we think you’ll enjoy this role if:
You’ve built user-facing web applications using a modern framework like React with TypeScript (or similar)
You’re comfortable working across the stack: not a backend specialist, but happy to adjust an endpoint, payload, or simple service when needed
You care deeply about product details that matter to users: loading states, error handling, accessibility, keyboard navigation, and edge cases
You enjoy working closely with designers, PMs, app engineers, and backend engineers as one team
You prefer clear, maintainable solutions over clever abstractions
You like taking ownership and improving real customer experiences over time
In short: you’re a fullstack Software Engineer with a strong interest and experience in web, customer experience, and product quality. Don’t worry if you’re unsure whether you tick every box, that’s okay. We’d still love to hear from you!
