Founded on compassion and excellence, HFE strives to restore health and dignity to women across Ethiopia through treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation programs. One of our key initiatives, Project Zero, aims to achieve fistula eradication woreda by woreda, ensuring that no woman suffers needlessly from this preventable condition. We already launched this program in some parts of the country.  We also want to ensure this project in Central Ethiopia, Western Gurage Zone, Gedebano Gutazer Wolene Woreda. For the successful implementation of the program, HFE needs to employ an experienced candidate as per the given job title and responsibilities. Mandatory:   Local Wolane language speaking is mandatory  Fluency in English, Amharic, and other local languages including Siltʼe language is advantageous.    Vacancy Information Job Title or Position     Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer Reports to     The Team Leader of the Project Zero Program Mode of Employment     Contract for one year Salary     As per the scale of the organization Number of Candidates     One Gender     Male or Female Announcement Date     March 19,2026 Deadline for Application     7 working days from the date of announcement  Job Summary  Reporting to the Project–Zero team leader.  The M&E Officer will lead the design, implementation, and operation of project, M&E systems from project initiation to close out. She/he will oversee the monitoring, evaluation, analytics, and reporting of performance and results, providing regular project reports to the Program team Leader. She/he will provide technical leadership and supervise staff experts and oversee data management, analysis, and ongoing training to other staff who participates in the project. She/he will conduct regular project data analysis and identify methods to use results for program improvement. She/he will lead activity efforts to strengthen monitoring and evaluation and performance reporting within the geographic area of Activity. This position is contingent upon award. Job Description Assisting  the project team leader  with development of the M&E Plan for the project, including indicator selection, target setting, reporting, database management, and developing M&E and/ performance monitoring plans. Lead role in overseeing data collection, collation, storage, analysis, and reporting, ensuring that data is of high quality and audit worthy. Responsible for supporting the preparation and review of project reports in collaboration with project team. Provide training and mentoring to partners and staff to ensure the implementation of strong M&E systems.  Work on data management and the database system. Communicating with relevant partners (from multiple sites) on data management to support smooth data collection and transfer of information.  Keeping a log (mapping) of research activities undertaken.  Supporting the coordination of data collection (tracking), including scheduling and undertaking field visits. Performing quality checks on data, including data cleaning and verification of data  Managing research databases for the project. Processing data and providing information for reporting.      Ensures consistency of information in different reports. Actively participate in Fistula Patient Identification Process, in collaboration with patient identification officer and other stakeholders in awareness creation, strengthen the existing referral system, and facilitate their treatment.  Does other work related activities as assigned by the team leader, PZ coordinator and PZ and prevention manger. Key Key competencies and professional expertise required: Excellent skill of computer software packages; previous experience with District Health Information System (DHIS) database packages preferred. Strong interpersonal, intercultural communication skills, able to work well both within a team and independently under stressful conditions. Proven clinical experience, working in the delivery of maternal, and child health service. Proven experience in developing and implementing service delivery protocols, norms and standards.
