To build and  strengthen our team, we are looking for a:   Accountant This is an opportunity to lead accounting and fundraising efforts with a fast growing startup in a thriving industry.    Key Responsibilities   Accounting & Financial Records Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in accordance with Ethiopian accounting standards and company policies Record daily financial transactions, including expenses, revenues, payroll, and bank transactions Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial records and supporting documents Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Support monthly closing activities, including reconciliations of bank accounts, cash, payables, and receivables Prepare financial schedules and reports as requested by the Head of Finance and Fundraising Budgeting & Cost Control Support the preparation and monitoring of project and departmental budgets Track expenditures against approved budgets and flag variances Assist in cash flow tracking and working capital monitoring Compliance & Taxation Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations Prepare and support timely submission of tax filings (VAT, withholding tax, payroll tax, etc.) Support external audits and respond to audit queries as needed Fundraising & Donor Support Maintain accurate financial records related to donor funds and grants Assist in preparing financial reports for donors and investors Support documentation required for fundraising proposals and financial due diligence Operational Support Process payments, manage petty cash, and ensure proper authorization of expenses Coordinate with banks, vendors, and service providers on financial matters Support ad-hoc financial analyses and special projects as assigned
