Description

Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) is the aid organization of the Swiss Protestant Churches which champions the cause of a more humane and just world. Its projects combat the causes of hunger, injustice, and social distress, abroad as well as in Switzerland. The dignity of every human being is central to our commitment.  In over 30 countries on four continents, HEKS/EPER supports development cooperation projects and strives for systemic change through its development work in Switzerland and worldwide.  HEKS/EPER started supporting projects in Ethiopia in 1972 and is currently a key development and humanitarian partner for the Ethiopian government across four regions (Oromia, Amhara, Somali and South Ethiopia). HEKS/EPER works with vulnerable communities including pastoralists, internally displaced persons and female-headed households, providing support in water, hygiene and sanitation, food security, protection, shelter, natural resource management, livelihood recovery, agroecology, market system development and institutional engagement.  Pursuant to Proclamation 1113/2011 to provide for the Registration and Regulation of Charities and Societies, Swiss Church Aid (HEKS/EPER) in Ethiopia was re-registered by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Authority for Civil Society Organizations as a Foreign Charity on October 22, 2019, for indefinite period of time.  The HEKS/EPER Amuru Field Office based in Amuru Woreda of, Horro Guduru Wollega Zone, of Oromia Region, is working on a WASH project, funded by Ethiopian Humanitarian Fund (EHF). For this project, HEKS/EPER would like to invite potential Contractors for Solarization and rehabilitation of “Dadu Kerebicho (Burka Aba Wakayo)”  motorized spring water scheme, which is found in Ejere Goremti Kebele, Horro Guduru Wollega Zone, Oromia Region. This tender is divided into two distinct lots, as outlined below. Bidders are invited to participate in one or both lots based on their technical expertise and capacity. Lot 1: Solarization of Dadu Kerebicho (Burka Aba Wakayo) Motorized Spring Water Supply Scheme The contractor shall be responsible for the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a solar-powered system for the existing motorized spring water scheme, based on the hydraulic data provided and site assessment. The work shall be executed using high-quality, durable, and genuine equipment that complies with the specified standards and ensures reliable and efficient operation. In addition, the contractor shall provide technology transfer to the local community, including practical training on system operation, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to ensure sustainability of the installed system. Lot 2: Rehabilitation and expansion of Dadu Kerebicho (Burka Aba Wakayo) Motorized Spring Water Supply Scheme The contractor shall undertake the rehabilitation of the existing water supply system. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, civil structure rehabilitation and/or construction, supply and installation of pipelines and fittings, as well as necessary maintenance works to ensure the system is fully functional and sustainable. The contractor shall also be responsible for testing the pipeline system and full commissioning of the rehabilitated scheme, ensuring that all components function properly and meet the required performance standards prior to handover. All works under both lots shall be carried out in accordance with the technical specifications, drawings, and requirements outlined in this tender document.
