As part of our 2026 strategic transformation, we have established a new, centralized Project and Performance Council (PPC) to enhance governance, performance monitoring, and execution excellence across our six key subsidiaries: OVID Construction, OVID Real Estate, Kavod Commercial, OVID Road, OVID Aluminum Formwork, and OVID Respan Design. The Council operates with 65 professionals across Leadership, Construction Operations Directorate, and Engineering Services Directorate, including a state-of-the-art Project Control Situation Room. We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join this new council and help us deliver projects that shape the nation. ABOUT THE JOB: This is a unique and critical role within the Project and Performance Council. As a Field Monitoring Engineer, you will act as the official "Council Delegate" on-site, serving as the independent, real-time eyes and ears of OVID's executive leadership. You are not part of the project team; your sole responsibility is to observe, verify, and report on the true status of construction activities, providing an unbiased account that ensures transparency and informed decision-making at the highest level. Job Summary Location: Assigned to specific project sites across Ethiopia Deadline: March 19th, 2026 Career Level: Mid-Level Employment Type: Full-time Number of People Required: 31 Reports to: Site Monitoring and Field Coordination Team Leader Duties and Responsibilities 1. Site Monitoring & Progress Verification: Conduct daily inspections of assigned project sites to monitor physical construction progress. Visually verify and report on actual work completed against the project schedule and reported progress. Document progress through photographs, videos, and detailed notes, maintaining a comprehensive site diary. Measure and quantify actual work in place to validate percentage completion claims. Monitor resource levels (labor, equipment, materials) and compare against planned requirements. 2. Identification of Issues & Risks: Identify and report operational challenges, resource bottlenecks, safety concerns, quality issues, or potential delays observed on site. Flag discrepancies between reported progress and actual conditions. Identify early Situationning signs of potential problems (e.g., slow mobilization, material shortages, labor unrest). Report any safety violations or quality non-conformances observed. 3. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit accurate weekly site performance reports directly to the Site Monitoring Team Leader, using standardized templates and protocols. Ensure all reports are factual, objective, and supported by evidence (photos, measurements). Submit immediate alerts for critical issues requiring urgent attention. Maintain organized records of all site observations and reports. 4. Coordination & Communication: Support coordination efforts between site teams and headquarters by providing on-the-ground intelligence. Foster a collaborative relationship with the project team while maintaining the objectivity and independence required by the Council. Participate in site meetings as an observer when required. Clarify reporting requirements and protocols with site teams as needed. 5. Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the Team Leader on the effectiveness of monitoring protocols and suggest improvements. Share observations and lessons learned across the field team through knowledge-sharing sessions. Stay updated on construction best practices and monitoring techniques.
