Project Background Future4Binti (F4B) is a regional initiative funded by the Government of the Netherlands and led by Amref Health Africa in partnership with Plan International and local civil society organizations. The program focuses on eliminating harmful practices such as FGM/C and child, early, and forced marriage (CEFM/U), while advancing gender equality and inclusion. alignAfrica is implementing the project in Dubti, Asayita, and Afambo woredas of Afar Region.  Purpose of the Role The Project Finance Officer is responsible for the financial management, compliance, and reporting of the F4B project. The role ensures effective budget utilization, accurate financial reporting, and adherence to donor and organizational financial policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Budget Management Support preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.  Monitor budget utilization and ensure alignment with approved work plans.  Provide regular budget analysis and variance reports to the Project Coordinator.  Financial Operations & Accounting Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including payments, cash management, and bank reconciliations.  Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.  Maintain up-to-date accounting records in line with organizational systems.  Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure compliance with donor requirements, government regulations, and alignAfrica financial policies.  Strengthen internal control systems to minimize financial risks.  Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.   Financial Reporting Prepare timely and accurate financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and donor reports).  Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.  Collaborate with the MERL team to align financial and programmatic reporting.  Procurement & Logistics Support Support procurement processes ensuring transparency and compliance.  Review financial aspects of procurement documents and payments.  Coordinate with logistics and administration teams as needed.  Capacity Building & Support Provide financial guidance to project staff and partners.  Support financial training and orientation for project team members.  Core Competencies Strong financial management and accounting skills  Knowledge of donor compliance and reporting requirements  High level of integrity, transparency, and accountability  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills  Good communication and teamwork abilities  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines   Expected Outputs Accurate and timely financial reports  Effective budget utilization and control  Full compliance with donor and organizational financial requirements  Strong financial documentation and audit readiness  Improved financial management systems and processes  Working Conditions Based in Semera with occasional travel to field sites  Work in resource-limited and challenging environments  Requires high attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
