Nephrologist Responsibilities & Duties Diagnose and treat acute and chronic kidney diseases Administer and oversee dialysis treatments Monitor and manage electrolyte imbalances Collaborate with dietitians to create tailored dietary plans Perform kidney biopsies to diagnose renal conditions Interpret lab results and imaging studies Develop comprehensive treatment plans Educate patients and their families about kidney health and disease prevention Coordinate care with other healthcare providers Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in nephrology Conduct rounds in hospital settings to evaluate and manage inpatient care Participate in clinical trials and research projects Provide consultations for other physicians regarding renal issues Manage hypertension and its impact on kidney health
