ABOUT OVID GROUP OVID Group is one of Ethiopia's premier construction and development conglomerates, driving large-scale infrastructure, real estate, and national development projects. As part of our 2026 strategic transformation, we have established a new, centralized Project and Performance Council (PPC) to enhance governance, performance monitoring, and execution excellence across our six key subsidiaries: OVID Construction, OVID Real Estate, Kavod Commercial, OVID Road, OVID Aluminum Formwork, and OVID Respan Design. The Council operates with 65 professionals across Leadership, Construction Operations Directorate, and Engineering Services Directorate, including a state-of-the-art Project Control Situation Room. We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join this new council and help us deliver projects that shape the nation. ABOUT THE JOB: The Situation Room Manager is responsible for leading the nerve center of the Project and Performance Council—the Project Control Situation Room. Reporting to the Engineering Services Director, you will lead a team of analysts, data engineers, and IT specialists to build and operate a state-of-the-art facility where real-time project data from a portfolio exceeding 100 Billion ETB is transformed into actionable intelligence. Your mission is to provide OVID's executive leadership with an instant, data-driven picture of portfolio health, enabling rapid and informed decision-making. Job Summary Location: Addis Ababa Deadline: March 19th, 2026 Career Level: Senior Management / Manager Employment Type: Full-time Number of People Required: 1 Reports to: Engineering Services Director Supervises: Senior Data Analyst, Digital Dashboard Engineer, Data Integration Engineer, IT Support Specialist Duties and Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership & Vision: Define and execute the strategic vision for the Project Control Situation Room as the central hub for project data, analytics, and performance intelligence at OVID. Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary Situation Room team, including a Senior Data Analyst, Digital Dashboard Engineer, Data Integration Engineer, and IT Support Specialist. Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making across the Council and, by extension, the entire OVID Group. Continuously research and recommend new technologies, analytical methods, and data visualization techniques to enhance the Situation Room's capabilities. Develop a three-year roadmap for Situation Room evolution and capability enhancement. 2. Situation Room Operations & System Development: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Situation Room, ensuring all systems, dashboards, and displays are functioning perfectly for executive reviews and meetings. Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of the Situation Room's core asset: a suite of interactive, real-time performance dashboards that provide an instant, accurate view of portfolio health. Manage the product roadmap for the Situation Room's digital tools, prioritizing new features and enhancements based on user feedback (primarily from the Deputy CEO and Group CEO) and organizational needs. Establish and enforce rigorous data quality and governance standards for all data displayed in the Situation Room. Conduct regular user feedback sessions to ensure the Situation Room meets executive needs. 3. Data Integration & Infrastructure: Oversee the Project Data Integration Engineer in building and maintaining robust data pipelines that extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from disparate source systems (Primavera P6, ERP, Excel, etc.) into a central Situation Room data repository. Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the Situation Room's technical infrastructure, including databases, servers, and network. Collaborate with the IT department and external vendors to resolve technical issues and integrate new data sources. Establish service level agreements (SLAs) for data availability and system uptime. Plan for regular infrastructure upgrades and capacity expansion. 4. Advanced Analytics & Decision Support: Lead the Senior Data Analyst in conducting deep-dive analytical studies on critical strategic questions, moving beyond descriptive dashboards to predictive and prescriptive analytics. Prepare and present high-impact analytical reports and presentations for the Deputy CEO and Group CEO, translating complex data into clear, strategic narratives. Facilitate real-time data review sessions in the Situation Room, guiding executive leadership through the data to uncover insights and support critical decisions. Proactively analyze data to identify emerging trends, potential risks, and opportunities for performance improvement, bringing them to the attention of leadership. Develop predictive models for project performance and risk forecasting. 5. Stakeholder Management & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between the Situation Room team and its key stakeholders, particularly the Deputy CEO, Engineering Services Director, and subsidiary CEOs. Understand the evolving information needs of executive leadership and translate them into technical requirements for the team. Promote the capabilities of the Situation Room across the organization, demonstrating its value as a tool for transparency, accountability, and strategic control. Prepare regular reports for the Engineering Services Director on Situation Room utilization, impact, and planned developments. Organize demonstration sessions for new features and capabilities for executive leadership.
