Brothers of Good Works Women Empowerment Center (BGW-WEC) is a faith-based organization committed to empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities, with a particular focus on women. The organization works with people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, orphaned youth, children and youth with disabilities and their families, returnees from migration, Female Sex Workers and in-school children and adolescents to empower, them through training, counseling, education, and socio-economic interventions. Promoting inclusion by reducing stigma and discrimination among these groups is central to our mission. We are now inviting qualified and motivated individuals to apply for the following vacant position Position Summary  The Assistant Social Worker will be part of the Women Empowerment Department, which focuses on economic and social empowerment of the target groups. The assistant social worker carries out the activities of the Women Empowerment Department; and is responsible and works in close collaboration with the staff of the women empowerment department.    Main Duties and Responsibilities:   Mobilizing IGA beneficiaries to form/establish Self Help Groups (SHGs)  Establishing and supervising Self Help Groups ( SHGs) / SILC-groups Plan and carry out the follow-up on existing and new SHGs / Follow up and mentoring of clients in SHG and Income Generating Activities Conduct need assessment survey, admission of  potential end users to the program, draft empowerment plan together with clients, follow up & evaluation empowerment plan; Conducting business skill training, life skills and other trainings as required building the capacity of members of SHGs.  Lead self-help group team meetings, monitoring & evaluation of the activities of SHGs/ SILC groups  Supervision of clients involved in IGA and directing IGA supervisors in close collaboration with the social worker in this regard;  Organizes IGA activities (organizes opportunities for clients to sell goods)  Conducting survey to measure improvement of quality of life of clients.  Is responsible for proper filing system and proper record keeping of activities.   Assisting in drafting of reports with regard to economic empowerment programs for administration, government and funders (in Amharic and English)
