  • Community Mobilization & Engagement   Organization:  Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD) Location: Debrebirhan, Implementation area:  Kewet, Debrebirhan, Shewarobit Reports to:  Project Coordinator Required No. : 01(one) Employment Type : Full time   About YNSD and F4B project   Youth Network for Sustainable Development (YNSD) is a non-governmental, non-profit making indigenous organization which was founded in 2003 by four school clubs and fifteen youth associations. Currently, YNSD is an umbrella Network for more than 1000 youth organizations/associations at national level. Its mission is to contribute for the sustainable development through promoting partnerships, networking, and building the capacity of its member organizations while its vision is to see Ethiopian youth holistically empowered and meaningfully engaged in the country’s all-rounded and sustainable development. It has been implementing programs and projects including youth and women empowerment, Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) & HIV/AIDS, Information & Communication Technology, environment sustainability, advocacy, WASH and new emerging issues.   Future for Biniti is a project that will be implemented in four regions of Ethiopia as a consortium lead by Amref health Africa. The project’s vision is that girls are protected from Harmful practices, which benefits their sexual and reproductive (SRH) health and contributes to achieving their full potential. The anticipated impact of the program will be that girls and young women are protected from Harmful practice through countering FGM/C and CEFMU. This impact is directly aligned to the goal of the instrument ‘Countering Harmful Practices’, which aims to contribute to improved prevention of harmful practices such as FGM/C, CEFMU and/or other harmful rites of passage by promoting changes in social norms and behavior, as well as to contribute to improved aftercare for the consequences of such practices.       Job Purpose:   To be the primary community-facing agent for the project, directly implementing activities that engage women, men, girls, and boys in dialogues, education, and collective action to abandon Harmful Practices like FGM and child marriage. This role builds trust, facilitates change, and empowers community structures. Key Responsibilities: Directly facilitate structured community and intergenerational dialogues, COC sessions, and peer education in schools and out-of-school clubs. Identify and work with community influencers, positive deviants, and existing groups (e.g., gender clubs, men’s forums) to promote positive norms. Organize and co-facilitate life skills, leadership, and parenting sessions at the woreda and kebele level. Mobilize communities for project activities and maintain strong, respectful relationships with community members and leaders. Work closely with schools, HEWs, and social workers to support the tracking and referral of at-risk girls. Collect monitoring data, success stories, and feedback directly from communities. Provide regular activity reports to the head office. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of and respect for local culture and community dynamics. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. Fluency in English is required. Ability to handle sensitive topics (gender, sexuality, and violence) with professionalism and confidentiality. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in remote settings.
