BrownFoods PLC | Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Position Overview BrownFoods PLC is seeking a highly experienced and strategic  Chief Financial Officer (CFO)  to lead its finance function and support the company’s transition into a  scaled, institution-ready agro-industrial leader. The CFO will play a central role in: Driving  financial performance andprofitability Enforcing  cash discipline in a high-volume environment Supporting  expansion into various innovative initiatives including into extrusion and fortified products (CSB++) Building credibility with  banks, DFIs, UN agencies, and government stakeholders This is a  hands-on, transformation-focused leadership role, requiring deep expertise in manufacturing or FMCG environments. Reporting Structure Reports to:  Group Chairman / CEO Direct Reports: Finance & Accounts team Supply Chain Finance Business Partner Treasury Manager Internal Auditor Role Purpose To design, implement, and lead a world-class financial function that: Enables  data-driven decision-making Ensures  financial sustainability and growth Supports  operational excellence at plant level Positions BrownFoods for  institutional partnerships and funding Key Responsibilities:  Working   very closely with the CEO and COO Strategic Financial Leadership Define and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with growth objectives Act as a key advisor to the CEO and COO on: Capital investments Expansion strategy Risk management Lead financial planning for: New product lines, new packs (grits, fortified flour, nutrition-dense products Capacity expansion and new technologies Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Establish robust  budgeting and forecasting frameworks Implement rolling forecasts and variance analysis Develop actionable dashboards including: Cost per ton Contribution margin per SKU Plant efficiency indicators Conduct scenario analysis (commodity prices, FX volatility) Cost Management & Industrial Finance Design and implement  advanced cost accounting systems Monitor and improve: Yield performance Production efficiency Wastage and losses Lead initiatives to reduce cost per ton across operations Ensure accurate product costing to support pricing strategy Cash Flow & Working Capital Management Implement strict  weekly cash flow management discipline Optimize: Inventory management (maize, finished goods) Receivables collection cycles Payables management Maintain strong liquidity position to support operations Capital Structuring & Fundraising Lead structuring of financing solutions for: Expansion projects (extrusion lines, capacity growth) Working capital needs Engage with: Commercial banks Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) Investors and partners Develop financial models and investment cases Institutional & Commercial Support Support structuring of contracts with: Local and international customers Government agencies UN organizations (WFP, UNICEF) NGOs and institutional buyers Ensure compliance with donor and institutional requirements Align pricing and financial models with institutional contracts Financial Reporting & Compliance Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting Maintain compliance with: IFRS Ethiopian tax and regulatory frameworks Oversee internal and external audits Establish strong internal controls and governance systems ERP & Systems Development Lead implementation and optimization of ERP systems Digitize financial processes and reporting Ensure real-time financial visibility and data integrity Leadership & Talent Development Build and lead a high-performing finance team Develop: Graduate trainee programs Talent development frameworks Foster a culture of: Accountability Discipline Continuous improvement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Financial Gross margin improvement by product line EBITDA growth Cost per ton reduction Cash & Liquidity Cash conversion cycle Inventory turnover days Receivables days Operational Yield improvement (%) Wastage reduction (%) Financial visibility of plant performance Strategic Successful financing secured ROI on capital investments Performance of expansion projects
