ABOUT OVID GROUP OVID Group is one of Ethiopia's premier construction and development conglomerates, driving large-scale infrastructure, real estate, and national development projects. As part of our 2026 strategic transformation, we have established a new, centralized Project and Performance Council (PPC) to enhance governance, performance monitoring, and execution excellence across our six key subsidiaries: OVID Construction, OVID Real Estate, Kavod Commercial, OVID Road, OVID Aluminum Formwork, and OVID Respan Design. The Council operates with 65 professionals across Leadership, Construction Operations Directorate, and Engineering Services Directorate, including a state-of-the-art Project Control Situation Room. We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join this new council and help us deliver projects that shape the nation. ABOUT THE JOB: As a Contract Engineer within the Contract, Risk and Claim Management Unit, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of contracts across a portfolio of projects. You will work to ensure that all parties adhere to their contractual obligations, support project teams with contract-related issues, and help identify and mitigate potential risks before they escalate. Your diligence will be a key line of defense against disputes and financial losses. Contract Administration: Monitor and administer project contracts, ensuring compliance with all terms, conditions, and procedures. Review and process contractual documentation, including correspondence, variations, and payment certificates. Maintain organized and auditable contract records for each assigned project. Track key contractual dates, deadlines, and deliverables. Ensure that all contract correspondence is properly documented and filed. 2. Advisory Support: Assist project teams in understanding and applying contract provisions correctly. Provide guidance on contractual rights, obligations, and procedures. Advise on the contractual implications of operational decisions and proposed changes. Support project managers in preparing contractual notices and correspondence. 3. Risk Identification: Support the Contract and Risk Manager in identifying potential contractual risks. Monitor project activities for potential non-compliance or deviations from contract requirements. Flag issues that could lead to claims or disputes for management attention. Contribute to risk review workshops and risk register updates. 4. Variation Management: Assist in the preparation and review of contract variations and change orders. Track variation submissions, approvals, and implementation. Ensure variations are properly documented and priced in accordance with the contract. 5. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular contract status reports for the Contract and Risk Manager. Contribute to the development of contract management tools and templates. Assist in preparing training materials and conducting contract aSituationeness sessions.
