Senior Accountant

Job Summary The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies. This role involves financial reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, auditing, and supporting strategic decision-making across multiple business units. JOB DESCRIPTION  Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) on a periodic basis. Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Monitor and manage general ledger accounts, reconciling discrepancies and ensuring accuracy. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review. Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets for different business units. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis with recommendations. Implement cost control measures to optimize financial performance across business units. Ensure timely preparation and submission of tax returns (VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, etc.). Liaise with tax authorities, external auditors, and regulatory bodies. Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws and financial regulations. Oversee the management of accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain positive cash flow. Ensure timely payment processing, invoice verification, and proper documentation. Follow up on outstanding receivables and manage credit risks. Coordinate and support external and internal audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings. Assess financial risks and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets. Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Supervise and mentor junior accountants, providing training and guidance. Collaborate with finance teams across different business units to ensure alignment of financial strategies.
