Chemist

The Chemist is responsible for conducting laboratory tests and analyses to evaluate coal quality, ensure compliance with environmental standards, and support production efficiency. The role involves applying chemical knowledge to improve processes, maintain safety, and provide accurate data for operational decisions. Key Responsibilities Perform proximate and ultimate analyses of coal (moisture, ash, volatile matter, fixed carbon, Sulfur, etc.). Conduct calorific value tests using calorimeters to determine energy potential. Analyse coal samples for trace elements and impurities. Ensure lab safety compliance by following  chemical handling standards, and emergency procedures. Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure accuracy. Prepare detailed technical reports and communicate findings to management. Support quality control in coal preparation. Collaborate with environmental and production teams to meet regulatory requirements.
