Description

The Construction Excellence & Capability Development Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, standardization, and continuous improvement across the construction business unit. The role focuses on enhancing project delivery efficiency, quality standards, cost optimization, and capability development across all construction sites. The position plays a critical role in embedding best practices, improving project governance, strengthening technical capabilities, and enabling scalable, high-performance construction operations aligned with the organization’s growth strategy. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities 1. Construction Excellence & Continuous Improvement Lead the development and implementation of construction excellence frameworks, standards, and methodologies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across project planning, execution, and delivery. Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve productivity, cost control, and quality. Promote best practices and lessons learned across all projects and sites. 2. Project Performance & Delivery Optimization Monitor project performance across timelines, cost, quality, and resource utilization. Develop performance dashboards and KPIs for construction projects. Support project teams in resolving critical delivery challenges and bottlenecks. Ensure consistency in project execution methodologies across sites. 3. Standards, Quality & Process Governance Establish and enforce construction standards, SOPs, and technical guidelines. Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) practices are implemented across projects. Conduct periodic site audits and performance reviews. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies. 4. Cost Efficiency & Value Engineering Drive cost optimization initiatives through value engineering and efficient resource utilization. Support budgeting and cost control processes across construction projects. Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to improve cost efficiency. Analyze project cost performance and recommend corrective actions. 5. Capability Development & Knowledge Management Lead capability development initiatives across all levels, including young talent, technical roles, and leadership pipelines. Develop and implement structured training and development programs to strengthen construction, project management, and operational capabilities. Identify capability gaps and drive targeted learning, coaching, and on-the-job development across projects. Establish and promote knowledge sharing, best practices, and lessons learned across sites. Partner with People & Culture to align capability development with performance management, succession planning, and career progression. 6. Digital & Systems Integration Support the implementation of construction management systems, ERP, and digital tools. Promote the use of data, analytics, and reporting tools for decision-making. Improve reporting accuracy, real-time visibility, and project tracking systems.
