ABOUT OVID GROUP OVID Group is one of Ethiopia's premier construction and development conglomerates, driving large-scale infrastructure, real estate, and national development projects. As part of our 2026 strategic transformation, we have established a new, centralized Project and Performance Council (PPC) to enhance governance, performance monitoring, and execution excellence across our six key subsidiaries: OVID Construction, OVID Real Estate, Kavod Commercial, OVID Road, OVID Aluminum Formwork, and OVID Respan Design. The Council operates with 65 professionals across Leadership, Construction Operations Directorate, and Engineering Services Directorate, including a state-of-the-art Project Control Situation Room. We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join this new council and help us deliver projects that shape the nation. ABOUT THE JOB: As a Cost Control Engineer within the Project Performance Monitoring Unit, you will play a vital role in safeguarding the financial health of OVID's projects. You will be responsible for tracking project budgets, analyzing expenditures, and forecasting financial outcomes. Your rigorous monitoring and variance analysis will provide early Situationnings of cost overruns and enable proactive financial management at the portfolio level. Job Summary Location:  Addis Ababa Deadline:  March 19th, 2026 Career Level:  Senior Employment Type:  Full-time Number of People Required:  3 Reports to:  Project Performance Monitoring Manager Duties and Responsibilities 1. Budget Monitoring & Cost Tracking: Monitor project budgets, track committed and actual costs, and ensure accurate cost coding for all expenditures. Maintain detailed cost databases for assigned projects, ensuring data integrity and auditability. Track and report on project cash flow, commitments, and expenditures. Verify cost data against invoices, payment applications, and procurement records. 2. Cost Analysis & Variance Reporting: Prepare detailed cost reports, including cost variance analysis, cash flow forecasts, and budget vs. actual comparisons. Track and analyze key cost performance indicators (CPI, CV) to identify trends and potential financial risks. Support the implementation of earned value management by providing accurate cost data. Analyze cost overruns and underruns to determine root causes and implications. 3. Forecasting & Decision Support: Prepare cost forecasts at completion (EAC) based on actual performance and remaining work. Support project teams in developing recovery plans for cost-overrun projects. Provide cost data and analysis to support decision-making on change orders, variations, and contingency release. Assist in the preparation of project budgets for new work. 4. Compliance & Verification: Review contractor payment applications and ensure alignment with physical progress and contract terms. Verify that costs are properly authorized and allocated to the correct cost centers. Ensure compliance with OVID's financial policies and procedures. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate cost records and explanations. 5. Reporting & Collaboration: Prepare regular cost performance reports for the Project Performance Monitoring Manager. Contribute to monthly project performance dashboards and executive reports. Collaborate with project teams, finance department, and procurement to ensure data accuracy. Liaise with the Situation Room team to ensure accurate cost data integration.
