As part of our 2026 strategic transformation, we have established a new, centralized Project and Performance Council (PPC) to enhance governance, performance monitoring, and execution excellence across our six key subsidiaries: OVID Construction, OVID Real Estate, Kavod Commercial, OVID Road, OVID Aluminum Formwork, and OVID Respan Design. The Council operates with 65 professionals across Leadership, Construction Operations Directorate, and Engineering Services Directorate, including a state-of-the-art Project Control Situation Room. We are seeking highly skilled professionals to join this new council and help us deliver projects that shape the nation. ABOUT THE JOB: As a Construction Productivity Engineer, you will be on the front lines of our efficiency drive. Working under the guidance of the Lean Construction Manager, you will visit project sites to collect productivity data, analyze workflows, and support the implementation of lean initiatives. Your hands-on work will be instrumental in identifying waste, measuring improvement, and helping project teams adopt best practices that lead to faster, more cost-effective project delivery. Job Summary Location: Addis Ababa, with frequent site visits Deadline: March 19th, 2026 Career Level: Mid-Level Employment Type: Full-time Number of People Required: 2 Reports to: Lean Construction Manager Duties and Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Data Collection & Analysis: Conduct regular site visits to observe construction activities and collect data on labor and equipment productivity. Perform time and motion studies to establish productivity rates and identify inefficiencies. Track and analyze key productivity indicators (e.g., output per man-hour, equipment utilization). Document current workflows and processes using value stream mapping and other analytical tools. 2. Workflow Analysis & Improvement: Analyze construction workflows to identify bottlenecks, delays, and non-value-added activities. Identify root causes of productivity losses through observation and data analysis. Recommend specific improvements to work methods, sequencing, or resource allocation. Support the development of standardized work procedures and best practice guidelines. 3. Lean Implementation Support: Support project teams in implementing lean construction tools and techniques under the guidance of the Lean Construction Manager. Assist in facilitating Last Planner System sessions, 5S events, and root cause analysis workshops. Help pilot new construction methods or process improvements, collecting data to measure their impact. Provide on-site coaching and support to project teams on lean practices. 4. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports and presentations on productivity findings, recommendations, and results. Document successful improvements as case studies for sharing across the organization. Maintain productivity databases and track progress against KPIs. Contribute to quarterly productivity reports for management. 5. Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, site engineers, and foremen to understand challenges and test solutions. Collaborate with the Project Performance Monitoring Unit to correlate productivity data with schedule and cost performance. Share observations and lessons learned with the lean team to build organizational knowledge.
