Driver

1. GENERAL Job Title: Driver Reports to: General Service Officer Department/Service: HR& Administration Department   2. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Under the close supervision of the General Service Officer, drives vehicles, light trucks and medium sized buses; transports authorized personnel, materials, goods, etc. from place to place as instructed; and checks the proper functioning of vehicles; ascertains availability of oil, water, fuel etc. prior to use.   3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Drives small vehicles, light trucks and medium sized buses not exceeding 30 passengers. Transports authorized personnel, materials, goods, etc. from place to place as instructed. Checks the proper functioning of vehicles; ascertains availability of oil, water, fuel etc. prior to use. Logs time of departure, return, kilometers covered, fuel and oil consumed, and other required data on the appropriate cards or log books. Reports to supervisor accidents, malfunctioning, breakdown, etc. as soon as possible. Makes minor maintenance such as changing flat tires, broken fan belts, filters, etc. Signs, receives and keeps tools assigned to the vehicle. Dusts, washes and cleans assigned vehicle regularly and as necessary. Ascertains that safety standards and traffic regulations are observed at all times. Runs errands and provides expediting services; Performs other related duties as required.
