In 2023, ALIMA cared for 2.8 million patients, including over a million children under the age of 5, received 157,393 people for mental health consultations, assisted 67,617 births, carried out 64 projects in 14 countries. Whenever possible, we work in partnership with local NGOs to ensure that our patients benefit from the best and most relevant expertise wherever it is, whether within their own country or in the rest of the world. In addition, to improve the humanitarian response, we are carrying out operational and clinical research projects, particularly in the field of the fight against malnutrition and viral hemorrhagic fevers. ALIMA’S TEAM: more than 2000 people are currently working for ALIMA. The field teams, closest to the patients, receive their support from coordination teams generally based in the countries’ capitals. These receive support from the 4 desk teams and the emergency and opening team based at the operational headquarters in Dakar, Senegal. The Paris and New York teams are actively working to raise funds and represent ALIMA. The rest of the ALIMA Galaxy includes individuals and partner teams working on behalf of other organizations such as medical NGOs BEFEN, ALERT Health, SOS Doctors / KEOGO, AMCP, research organizations PACCI, and INSERM, Bordeaux or Copenhagen Universities, the INGO Solidarités International, and many others. COUNTRIES WHERE WE WORK: Mali, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Nigeria, Niger, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Guinea, Sudan, Mauritania, Haiti. THE WORK WE DO covers: Malnutrition, Maternal Health, Primary Health, Pediatrics, Malaria, Epidemics (Ebola, Cholera, Measles, Dengue, Lassa Fever), Hospitalization, Emergencies, Gender-Based Violence, Opening / Closing. ALIMA IN ETHIOPIA ALIMA has been operating in Ethiopia since 2022, supporting healthcare, nutrition, and rapid response in affected communities. ALIMA initially focused on the Afder zone in the Somali Region, where limited healthcare infrastructure and recurring droughts have significantly strained resources for health and nutrition services. Since 2023, ALIMA has supported the delivery of integrated health and nutrition services to support affected communities in Hargele, Elkare (2023-2024, 2025-present) and Barey woredas (2023-2024). In 2024, ALIMA expanded its work to the Tigray region. The organization is implementing programs addressing healthcare, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in targeted woredas. Offices have been established in Mekele and Shire, and activities are being rolled out to improve access to essential services for affected populations in Northwest Zone and Southeast Zone. To ensure continuity and scale up its impact, ALIMA plans to continue programs in 2026 in both Somali and Tigray Regions, aiming to strengthen healthcare systems, enhance nutrition support, and improve overall community resilience. The main activities to come will consist of : In the short-term: prepare and launch in collaboration with the Ministry of Health a project contributing to the reduction of morbidity and mortality of communities affected by the drought. In the mid-to-long term: ensure the follow-up of the first project, develop partnerships with key stakeholders (MoH, civil society, research institutes…), conduct new assessments in areas with acute humanitarian needs and launch new activities. LOCATION OF POSITION: Addis Ababa PROTECTION OF BENEFICIARIES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS Level 3: As part of his/her duties, the incumbent will visit programs and come into contact with children and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, a criminal record check or a certificate of good character will be required. In situations where a criminal record or character reference is not available, a statement of good character will be required. FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL LINKS He/she reports to the Emergency Logistics Support, as line manager and Desk Logistics Referent, as technical manager. He/she works in close collaboration with the coordinators (medical, projects and other staff). He/she supervises drivers, guards, technical specialists, etc. MISSION AND MAIN ACTIVITIES He/she, in collaboration with the Emergency Logistics Support, is responsible for the planning, execution and follow-up of all work requests at the coordination office. He/she is responsible for the management of the equipment, maintenance of infrastructure in the coordination office. He/she ensures the management of coordination office. MAINTENANCE OF INFRASTRUCTURES Liaise with the owner of the office for any maintenance and repair needed in the building. Supervise and monitor the progress of maintenance, ensuring that work is completed according to the specifications. Ensure the proper maintenance of all infrastructures To make proposals on the improvement and development of infrastructure EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT Systematically use the Google drive and ALIMA’s ALI-ASSET data input to ensure real time asset management. Monitor and take inventory of all investment material (energy equipment, IT, communication) and make sure all assets are labelled in hard and soft copies. Perform any necessary tests / checks to confirm the proper operation of the installation or equipment after repair. Immediately inform the Emergency Logistics Support of any problems that arise (damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins). In collaboration with IT (at HQ level), ensure that computers work properly and execute security management protocols (backups, anti-malware updates and firewall protection, etc.) in order to ensure an immediate operational recovery/continuity in case of emergency and data security & availability. Proceed to material allocation SUPPLY CHAIN Support the Emergency Supply Manager in organizing the daily activities of the Supply Chain in the coordination; Support the Emergency Supply Manager for the management of internal request, order, purchase, stock and freight management in the coordination, monitoring and ensuring an efficient implementation of ALIMA’s supply protocols, policies and standards; Support the Emergency Supply Manager on the supply database and the correct filing and archiving of the supply documentation in order to guarantee the availability and the coherence of supply data; Mapping and regular update of main suppliers in coordination Organize the selection and the use of the supply related third parties (suppliers, transport companies, freight forwarders,..) MANAGEMENT OF THE LOGISTICS STOCK Ensure the proper receipt, quality and quantity of all orders according to the established procedure Regularly update inventory records and Q4 Ensure the monthly and quarterly inventory of its stock Ensure FIFO/ FEFO rules Ensure proper classification / storage of inventory items Produce the report of its inventories Environmental responsibility within the logistics department and the Project. Optimize the management of electronic equipment (air conditioners, washing machines, irons, office and home lighting) Promote and disseminate environmental actions to the communities we serve and the health structures we support. Implement a zero waste - zero single-use plastic policy. Implementation of preventive measures against abuse of power, gender-based and sexual violence: Ensures that his/her team, partners, and community members are aware of ALIMA's policy and have access to information (complaint reporting mechanism, focal point, etc.). Facilitates the organization of training and awareness sessions Implements standards for the prevention of abuse of power, gender-based violence, and sexual violence. Ensures that the members of his/her team and those of the partners involved in the project (Ministry of Health, national partners, etc.) follow the training and awareness sessions and apply the rules of abuse prevention. Contributes to creating and maintaining a nurturing and protective environment for the team, community members, and partners involved in the project. REPORTING Contributes to the monthly reports: SITREP; data compilation of logistics activities. Monthly update all logistics data information as per the ALIMA Logistics toolbox.
