Department HR & Asset Management Reports To HR & Asset Management Director Job Summary The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring efficient operations, cost-effective management, compliance with safety & regulations and proper maintenance of vehicles. This role involves planning, coordinating, and supervising all fleet activities, maintenance schedules, fuel consumption and driver performance to optimize fleet efficiency and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the company’s fleet (cars, trucks, or other vehicles) Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and inspected regularly Prepare and manage the fleet budget, including fuel, maintenance, repairs, insurance and depreciation. Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle performance, and operational costs to minimize costs and prevent downtime Develop and implement cost-saving fleet management strategies, policies, procedures and best practices for fleet operations Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, insurance documentation, and maintenance logs Ensure vehicles and fleet operations are safe, roadworthy, and comply with Ethiopian transportation laws, insurance, licensing requirements, safety regulations and company policies. Supervise drivers and provide training on safety and performance standards, evaluate drivers and fleet staff Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and high performance among fleet personnel. Handle accident reports, insurance claims, and vehicle replacement processes Track fleet using GPS systems and optimize route planning Provide regular reports on fleet performance, utilization, expenses, efficiency of all vehicles and incidents.
