Senior Logistics Officer (Import)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Logistics Officer (Import) to manage and oversee end-to-end import operations. The ideal candidate must have strong practical knowledge of the entire import process, be detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure to ensure timely and cost-effective clearance of shipments, with a strong focus on minimizing demurrage costs.   Key Responsibilities:   Handle end-to-end import operations from order placement to final delivery. Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and clearing agents. Prepare and review import documentation (Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Insurance, etc.). Follow up on shipment status and ensure timely arrival and clearance. Manage customs clearance processes in compliance with local regulations. Monitor and control demurrage and detention, ensuring it is minimized or reduced to zero. Work closely with internal departments (finance, warehouse, procurement) for smooth operations. Ensure proper filing and record keeping of all import documents. Identify and resolve operational issues proactively. Provide regular reports on shipment status and logistics performance.
