Job Title:  Agronomist Job Purpose The Agronomist is responsible for effectively and efficiently implement coffee and other crops management, coordinate, examine and research quality problems; develop tailored agronomic approaches (practices) and oversee Yayu project in the intervention areas in line with Neumann Foundation

  • Ethiopia’s Approaches and Methodologies        Duty station The duty station will be the HRNS ET Mettu field office. Reporting The Agronomist will report to Field Coordinator and Project manager at Addis Ababa as needed. Number of position (one) Duties and Responsibilities: Familiarize with the scope and breadth of HRNS Ethiopia Yayu project activities to effectively participate in its day-to-day implementation. Ensure all Yayu project target groups are engaged in good agricultural practices, climate actions, gender household activities and the livelihood interventions implemented asper the recommendations.  Coaches and mentors, the project extensionists, facilitators, and stakeholder experts, and deliver skill training as needed.  Develops and promotes Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).  Work collaboratively with project co-implementing partners (IPs) and key government stakeholders to ensure that their support is essential throughout the project life.  Regular field visits and monitoring of field activities to ensure timely and quality implementation of the activities at site level.  Establish mechanisms for knowledge sharing and learning within the beneficiaries supported by project.  Organize and document project progress data in a usable for reporting to the responsible parties. Assist in developing work plans with the project team, coordination office, and implementing partners (IPs).  Prepare and submit quarterly and annual progress reports and project summary data to the project management office.  Ensures that lessons learnt are well documented and shared among the team and project partners.  Documents, analyze and synthesize findings/data and produce reports for wider sharing.  Assists in preparing communication materials like brochures, flyers, narratives and presentations for special events, as and when required. Collaboration with all other field staff and Neumann Foundation Ethiopia team and commitment towards   the successful accomplishment of project goals and objectives.    Responsibility for assigned adhoc duties Perform other duties that may be assigned by the field or head office of HNS
