Construction Material Purchasing Officer

Purpose of the job  To purchases materials and other supplies required in accordance with the purchasing policies and procedures of the company. Duties and responsibilities Purchases construction materials from the local market on the basis of approved purchase orders. Ensures that every purchase is based on competitive prices and that the quantities and qualities are in accordance with the requirements of the requesting units. Delivers all items purchased to storekeeper against signed goods receipt note (GRN) and submits all cash invoice with GRN to head, local purchases section for approval and signature. Submits daily unutilized cash together with approved cash invoices and GRN of materials purchased to cashier and clears his/her liabilities. Surveys the supply situation in the market during his/her purchasing activities and records comparative prices and fluctuation and passes such information to his/her immediate supervisor for appropriate action. Maintains an up-to-date record on all purchase activities Submits periodic reports on all purchase activities to his/her immediate supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned.
