The role

We’re looking for a strategic social media leader to join Epidemic Sound for a 1-year temporary cover. You’ll take the lead in shaping our social presence across key platforms, overseeing content strategy, planning, and production, while managing a small team and acting as the content gatekeeper to ensure everything aligns with our brand and goals.

You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external production partners to deliver creative, high-quality campaigns, drive cross-platform engagement, and amplify our brand storytelling. You’ll also manage social tools, reporting processes, and the content production budget, using insights to continuously improve performance.

If you’re passionate about building meaningful engagement, spotting opportunities in trends and creator behaviours, and leading a social strategy that’s both creative and data-driven, this role is for you.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Own and drive the end-to-end social media strategy across all platforms, ensuring alignment with brand tone of voice, KPIs, and marketing priorities.
  • Oversee the full editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent content pipeline, thematic planning, and stakeholder input.
  • Act as the final approver and content gatekeeper for all social output.
  • Manage the external production agency, including briefs, timelines, quality control, and delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small social media team, providing clear direction, goals, and performance expectations.
  • Coordinate with other departments and channel teams to support social media campaigns, cross-promotion, and consistent brand messaging.

• Implement and oversee social tools for scheduling, monitoring, and measurement, ensuring effective team use. Establish a reporting process with regular performance analysis, actionable insights, and transparency for stakeholders.

  • Plan and manage the annual social content production budget, including sourcing, approvals, and reconciliation.

• Stay ahead of platform trends, creator behaviours, and industry best practices, identifying opportunities for experimentation and innovation while ensuring alignment with brand strategy.

Requirements:

  • Deep expertise across major social media platforms, including best practices, tools, algorithms, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute social media strategies aligned with KPIs, brand identity, and industry trends.
  • Strong eye for social media content, including editorial calendar oversight, channel-specific planning, thematic campaigns, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Proficiency in analytics and performance reporting, translating data into actionable insights.
  • Experience managing production budgets, including sourcing, approvals, and reconciliation.
  • Effective leader and team manager, setting goals, mentoring team members, and ensuring collaboration, brand consistency, and stakeholder alignment.

• Proactive and adaptable, staying ahead of trends and continuously refining strategies based on insights. Equal opportunity employer
