This role sits at the intersection of Risk, Data, and Technology, driving improvements in data quality, governance, and architecture across multiple risk domains.The position plays a key role in embedding data governance practices across the organisation, ensuring that risk data is accurate, complete, and fit for purpose. It also involves influencing stakeholders and promoting a strong data-driven culture where governance principles are still evolving.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the implementation of data governance frameworks across Risk domains in alignment with BCBS239 principlesOwn end-to-end data definition, lineage, and governance for priority use casesPartner with stakeholders across Risk (Credit, Market, Liquidity, Operational) to ensure high-quality, reliable dataMonitor and manage changes to data requirements, ensuring alignment with change and release management processesSupport the design and adoption of data standards, policies, and governance controlsFacilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to elicit, define, and document business and data requirementsProduce key Business Analysis artefacts, including:Requirements documentationTraceability matricesTarget Operating Models (TOMs)Terms of ReferenceCollaborate with business, technology, and compliance teams to ensure clear definition and prioritisation of data-related initiativesInvestigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and define remediation strategies to resolve issues at sourceContribute to broader data strategy initiatives, supporting improvements in data architecture, management, and usagePromote a culture of transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement in data practicesSkills & ExperienceStrong experience in data governance, data quality, and data management frameworksGood understanding of BCBS239 principles and regulatory expectationsBroad knowledge of risk domains including Credit, Market, Liquidity, and Operational RiskProven experience working within data programmes in Tier 1 or Tier 2 financial institutionsStrong ability to analyse complex data structures and risk calculationsDemonstrated experience in business analysis and project delivery, including running workshops and managing stakeholdersExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and drive change across all levelsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesProficiency in tools such as Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint for data analysis and process modellingAbility to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and presentation skillsExperience with data governance tools (e.g. Collibra)Exposure to data visualisation tools such as Power BI or TableauWorking knowledge of SQL, VBA, or similar toolsUnderstanding of data-related regulatory requirementsExperience within regulated financial services environmentsFamiliarity with emerging trends in data management and governanceExperience supporting regulatory initiatives or large-scale transformation programmesPersonal AttributesProactive, with a strong “can-do” attitudeComfortable challenging the status quo in a constructive and empathetic mannerStrong focus on building relationships and influencing stakeholdersAbility to work under pressure and manage competing prioritiesAdaptable and flexible, with a commitment to continuous improvementOur PeopleThe ideal consultants will share our values and be aligned with our ways of working.
