Backend Engineer - Java & Test Automation

Build the platform that moves money around the worldWe’re looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Java and test automation experience to join the team behind a global payments platform that enables businesses and customers to move money quickly, securely, and globally.The platform powers international payments that help organisations pay suppliers, process salaries, transfer funds, and pay taxes directly to authorities through multiple channels.You’ll play a key role in modernising payment systems, building high-quality microservices, and developing automation frameworks that ensure reliability at scale.As part of the engineering team, you’ll help design and build reliable payment services used globally.You will:Develop and maintain backend services and microservices in Java (11/17/21)Design and implement robust test automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software deliverySupport the modernisation of legacy systems, migrating towards API and microservices-based architectureImprove system efficiency by increasing Straight-Through Processing (STP) capabilitiesCollaborate closely with engineers, testers, and stakeholders in an Agile/DevOps environmentContribute to scalable, resilient solutions powering global payment flowsMust-have experienceStrong development experience with Java 11+ (Java 17+ preferred)Hands-on experience in software testing and building automation frameworksSolid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architectureExperience working with Git for version controlComfortable working in Unix/Linux environments and command-line toolsExperience with databases and SQL (Oracle preferred)Experience with Spring / Spring BootNice to haveExperience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or BashExperience working within a QA or testing-focused teamUnderstanding of application monitoring and observability toolsThe role has a Hybrid model : candidates form Cracow 6x per month, outside of Cracow 3 - 5 x per month, from Warsaw 6x per month
