A leading middle market investment bank is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate 1 to join its Consumer coverage team in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional to play a key role in live transaction execution, client engagement, and sector-focused coverage within a high-performing, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities • Support the execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory engagements within the Consumer sector. • Lead the creation and review of financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials (CIMs, management presentations, board materials). • Conduct in-depth industry and company research, including market mapping, competitive landscapes, and trend analysis within Consumer sub-verticals. • Participate in client meetings, due diligence processes, and internal deal team discussions. • Drive high-quality workstreams across multiple live mandates with minimal supervision. • Provide mentorship and guidance to Analysts on modeling, research, and presentation development. Required Qualifications • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking or a related field, with at least 1 year at the Associate level preferred. • Demonstrated consumer coverage experience, ideally across one or more sub-sectors (e.g., food & beverage, personal care, retail, household products, consumer services, or e‑commerce). • Strong technical and analytical skills, including advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring. • Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing abilities. • Proven ability to manage multiple live workstreams in a fast-paced environment. • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree a plus but not required.
