Senior Developer (Full-Stack)
Description
Senior Developer (Full-Stack), Fuxia Oy
Contract type: Permanent, full-time Location: Helsinki Metropolitan Area / Hybrid (within Finland) Application deadline: 25.1.2026 Start date: By agreement
Do you want to work on a real product already in use? Are you ready to take ownership of complex features in a scalable AI-driven SaaS product for a globally growing market? If you’re looking for impact, autonomy, and the chance to help shape both the product and the way we build it, keep reading.
About Fuxia
Fuxia is a Finnish legal tech company founded in 2023. We automate contract review and redlining for in-house legal, business, and sourcing teams with an AI-powered SaaS tool. Our product is a Microsoft Word- and browser-based service that helps users review contracts faster by identifying and analyzing legal issues and rewriting clauses directly in Word, following the company’s own contract playbooks.
Our MVP is live, we have pilot customers, and the feedback is clear: the problem is real, and we are already saving users’ time. Your work will directly impact on how users across industries review their contracts in the future.
Your role as Senior Developer
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Developer (Full-Stack) to become one of the core builders of Fuxia. This is not a pure “feature factory” role, and it’s not a classic line-management position either. You will be the person who:
- Takes real ownership of key parts of the product
- Helps evolve our architecture and development practices
- Works closely with the CEO and domain experts
- Has a strong say in how we build and ship software
You’ll work across our Python/Django backend, Azure Cloud infrastructure, and the Microsoft Word Add-in (JavaScript/ React), as well as our AI LLM integrations on Azure AI Foundry.
Over time, there’s room to grow into a lead/architect role if that’s where you want to take your career, but the starting point is very much senior hands-on development.
What you’ll do:
You don’t need to tick every box, but these are the kinds of things you’ll be working on:
Backend & architecture
- Design, implement, and maintain core backend services in Python/Django
- Evolve our architecture for a secure SaaS product on Azure
- Improve performance, reliability, and observability
Front-end & Word Add-in
- Develop and refine the Word Add-in (office.js, React) and related web UI
AI & integrations
- Integrate and experiment with LLMs (e.g. Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI Service) for contract analysis workflows
- Design and implement identity and access management flows (SSO with Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace)
Quality & teamwork
- Ensure strong testing practices, CI/CD and code reviews (modern DevOps practices)
- Contribute to technical planning, architecture discussions and product discovery with users and pilot customers
- Mentor other developers as the team grows
What we are looking for:
We’re looking for someone who’s not just looking for their next job, but for their next mission.
You should have:
- Strong experience as a software developer, ideally in SaaS products
- Excellent skills in Python, Django is a plus
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Comfortable working with modern JavaScript and front-end frameworks (React or similar)
- Experience working in production environments (monitoring, debugging, incident handling)
- Good understanding of security in backend and web applications (auth, access control, data handling, encryption)
- Experience or strong interest in AI-based solutions (LLMs)
- A product mindset: you care about impact, not just shipping code
- Excellent communication skills in English; Finnish is a plus
- Ability to work both autonomously and as a team member, in a fast-moving startup setting
We appreciate (nice-to-haves):
Previous experience from startups or growth companies
Experience with:
Azure-based cloud infrastructure
Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI Service
Agentic workflows
Office Add-ins (especially Word / office.js)
Docker and container-based deployments
Experience mentoring other developers or informally leading technical work
Interest in AI-assisted development tools and a desire to use them effectively
Don’t worry if you don’t match every single bullet. If this role feels exciting and you believe you can grow into it, we definitely encourage you to apply.
What we offer you:
- A high-impact senior role in a focused legal tech startup
- Freedom to influence our technology choices, architecture, and ways of working
- Flexible work location (Helsinki area / remote within Finland) and high trust in autonomy
- A low-bureaucracy environment where we ship fast, learn quickly, and keep meetings practical
- A front-row seat in taking the product from MVP towards strong product–market fit and scale
- The chance to work on a product that is already solving real problems for real users
- Close collaboration with experienced founders and domain experts in legal and AI
- Visual Studio Enterprise, GitHub Enterprise and AI-assisted development tools
- A competitive, market-aligned salary based on your experience and skill set
How to apply:
If this sounds like you and you’d like to help us transform how companies review contracts, we’d really like to hear from you.
Please submit your application via the “Hae työpaikkaa” button and complete the application form. Attach your CV in PDF format and include your salary expectation and earliest possible start date either in your CV or in the optional application text field.
As the application system accepts only one PDF file, you may include links to a project portfolio, GitHub profile, demo application or other work samples directly in your CV or in the application text field. Including links is optional.
We review applications on a rolling basis during the application period.
You can expect one to two meetings with our team, usually at our office in Helsinki city centre or online in a hybrid format.
We reserve the right not to recruit anyone if a suitable candidate is not found.
