Service Manager Databricks

Job Description About your role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Databricks Service Manager who is responsible for end-to-end management, governance, and operational excellence of the Databricks platform, while also supporting data engineering activities to enable advanced analytics and AI workloads. This role ensures the service is secure, compliant, cost-efficient, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of data governance framework, cloud technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams utilizing agile ways of working. Your key responsibilities

  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all Databricks service-related matters.
  • Own service lifecycle, design, transition, operation and continual improvement.
  • Implement and enforce Unity Catalog policies, data lineage, and access controls.
  • Ensure compliance with, CxP, and internal security standards.
  • Maintain audit trails and reporting for regulatory and internal governance.
  • Oversee users, groups, and service principals to ensure secure automated processes.
  • Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
  • Optimize data ingestion and transformation workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Implement data quality checks, schema enforcement, and validation processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and other departments.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data availability and reliability.
  • Support batch and streaming data processing for real-time analytics.
  • Manage integration with Azure Data Lake, Synapse, and other data services.
  • Test and document data pipeline solutions and processes. This is a full-time position located either in Espoo or Turku, and we also support hybrid working model.   • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as Data Engineer or similar role with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Strong experience with cloud services and platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Proven experience in DataBricks
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience on managing external partners.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Preferred Skills
  • Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and data architecture principles and cloud data warehousing solutions.
