Senior DevOps Engineer

Project Description: Our client is a leading global Financial markets data provider that runs many change programs to deliver high-quality software that connects Financial Markets across the globe in a real-time, high-frequency, and low-latency data management chain.

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for Real Time Data Distribution System in the Real Time Core team. The successful candidate will combine strong technical and collaboration skills in a demanding and dynamic environment. You will work directly with your team and with groups across the organisation to ensure the best service for our client base.

You will be a member of a multi-skilled team building and maintaining components for our market leading our system. Responsibilities: • Engaging with the product owner, team lead, architects and other members of the global team you'll help build world-class solutions to address our customer needs. • Demonstrating a consistent focus on quality and security, you'll deliver reliable, and robust solutions. • Manages own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture. • Takes initiative to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects. • Actively participating in Scrum meetings, you'll give timely status updates to the Team Lead and/or Scum Master on areas for which you are responsible. • Through agile retrospectives and reviews, you'll analyse and adapt, finding innovative ways to enable your team work more effectively delivering on time to defined standards of quality. • You'll need to able to work well under pressure and be adept at taking problems and seeing them through to resolution with minimal supervision. • You'll be an excellent communicator and very client focused with strong interpersonal skills. • You'll ensure that the Knowledge Base is kept up to date with the team's knowledge and technical issues resolution. • Second line point of escalation in event of a major incident. • Occasional weekend or evening deployment work.

Mandatory Skills Description: • 8+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role. • Recent 5+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale Azure projects. • Experience with AWS. • Good working knowledge of Terraform. • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (Gitlab, Jenkins). • Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Experience with Monitoring platforms (Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, Cloudwatch, Azure Monitor) • Experience with Monitoring Integration (statsd, OpenTelemetry, APM) is a plus. • Working experience with scripting languages like Python. • Working experience with Memory safe languages (Java, Go, Rust) is a plus. • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast). • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
