About the Company Our client is a leading autonomous vehicle technology company working at the forefront of self-driving software development. Their internal simulation platform is mission-critical — every change to the autonomy stack is validated through simulation before deployment. Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Python engineer to support a legacy internal tooling application currently undergoing an ownership transition. This is a high-visibility role where you will act as the single point of contact for a simulation-related tool — ensuring stability, supporting users, implementing small improvements, and transforming tribal knowledge into structured documentation for future platform integration. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy support-oriented environments, legacy systems, async communication, and ownership. Responsibilities • Own and support a Python / JavaScript (Vue.js) internal application • Monitor Slack support channel and respond to user requests (data queries, bug reports, small feature requests) • Implement minor enhancements (UI updates, schema changes, configuration adjustments) • Participate in knowledge transfer sessions with the outgoing developer • Create clear technical documentation (architecture, data models, runbooks) • Transfer knowledge to the receiving engineering team • Provide weekend on-call support via OpsGenie (incident response) Requirements • 5+ years of software engineering experience • Strong Python skills (backend services, scripting, debugging) • Solid experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases • Ability to work with legacy / undocumented codebases • Basic frontend skills (JavaScript / Vue.js) • Experience in async support environments (Slack or similar) • Availability during California business hours (9 AM
