Job Title: Business Systems Analyst Financial Systems Location: Bay Area, CA (Local candidates only 2 days onsite required) Duration: 12+ Months Job Summary We are seeking a senior-level Business Systems Analyst with strong expertise in Financial Data Warehousing to support the analysis, design, and implementation of a cloud-based data warehouse using AWS data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, QuickSight) . The ideal candidate will have deep experience in financial data domains , ETL/ELT processes , and reporting/dashboard development using Tableau or Cognos . This role requires a strong focus on finance systems , particularly supporting procurement and spend analytics functions . Note: Candidates with backgrounds limited to banking or insurance industries are not a fit for this role. Key Responsibilities Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for financial data warehousing solutions Work closely with data engineering teams to design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services Extract, transform, and analyze data from procurement, accounts payable, and general ledger systems Develop and support dashboards and reports using Tableau or Cognos Perform spend analytics to provide insights into purchasing trends and financial performance Identify cost-saving opportunities , inefficiencies, and areas of spend leakage Analyze vendor contracts and procurement data to support financial decision-making Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, procurement, and IT teams Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reporting systems Required Skills & Experience 10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role Strong experience with Financial Data Warehousing and data modeling concepts Hands-on experience with AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and QuickSight Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and data integration Strong reporting and visualization experience using Tableau or Cognos Solid understanding of finance systems and data, including: Purchasing / Procurement Accounts Payable (AP) General Ledger (GL) Proven ability to extract, analyze, and interpret financial data for business insights Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Experience Experience supporting procurement or purchasing departments Strong background in spend analytics, cost optimization, and financial reporting Experience analyzing: Purchasing categories and spend distribution Vendor performance and contract utilization Cost inefficiencies and financial leakage Experience working in industries with high-volume purchasing environments , such as: Manufacturing Healthcare Universities / Public Sector organizations Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions Attention to detail and data accuracy Proactive and consultative mindset Ability to work in a hybrid, fast-paced environment
