Network Engineer

Network Engineer (Enterprise / SD-WAN) Chicago, IL Hybrid Onsite / Remote CDDW is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support and optimize a global enterprise network spanning 40+ sites. This role focuses on SD-WAN, firewall administration, and ensuring high-performing, highly available network infrastructure across on?prem and cloud environments. Responsibilities: Design, support, and optimize enterprise LAN, WAN, Wi?Fi, and SD?WAN environments Administer and troubleshoot SD?WAN solutions, including routing, performance, and failover Manage firewall platforms (Fortinet preferred), including segmentation and security alignment Partner with managed service providers (NOC / SD?WAN) to resolve issues and improve performance Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution Support network modernization and SD?WAN transformation initiatives Manage DNS, routing, and cloud connectivity (Azure, Google Cloud Platform) Ensure high availability and adherence to security best practices Required Experience 5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience Strong background in routing, switching, firewalls, and network security Experience supporting multi?site or global network environments Experience working with managed network providers or NOCs Strong troubleshooting skills across WAN, DNS, and application performance Preferred Qualifications Experience with SD?WAN platforms (VMware VeloCloud or similar) Experience with Fortinet or comparable firewall technologies Experience with Cisco Meraki environments Cloud networking experience (Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform) Experience leading technical initiatives or coordinating cross?functional efforts What We're Looking For Self?starter who operates independently and takes ownership Strong problem solver with a proactive mindset Ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority Clear communicator across technical and non?technical teams #dice
