Description

Business Development Manager, Photonics (Alkmaar, NL)

Location: Alkmaar, The Netherlands (office-based) Travel: International travel, about 10 to 20% Industry: Photonics, high-tech

About the role

An expanding start-up company is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to grow revenue with new and existing customers, while translating real customer problems into clear direction for our technology and product roadmap.

You will:

  • Develop and generate new business with new and existing customers
  • Connect customer technical needs to our internal expertise to help shape technology and product roadmaps
  • Act as the key point of contact between customers and our technical specialists
  • Build partnerships with resellers and subcontractors

What we are looking for

You enjoy the pace of a small, fast-moving company and you like learning your way into new technology quickly.

You bring:

  • A technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or similar)
  • Senior experience, or you are an exceptionally curious junior with the drive to grow fast
  • A proven track record closing complex deals
  • The ability to simplify and explain complex concepts to different audiences
  • Comfort with international travel as a normal part of the job (10 to 20%)
  • You live in the Netherlands and can work from our Alkmaar office

Nice to have:

Experience in Aerospace or Defense markets.
