HVAC Technician – Oregon
Description
We’re partnered with a rapidly growing, high-technology industrial services provider that specializes in delivering mission-critical compressed air systems to major manufacturing and processing facilities across North America. They are seeking a skilled Operations & Safety Specialist to oversee multiple satellite sites, ensure system reliability, and serve as the key operational point of contact for customers.
Position Overview
- Provide day-to-day operational and safety oversight of satellite compressed air facilities.
- Ensure systems meet performance, reliability, safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
- Act as the primary customer contact for operational updates, maintenance coordination, and performance communication.
- Support construction, commissioning, and maintenance work across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance through on-site inspections and remote tools.
- Execute preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance programs.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with customer teams on production needs and maintenance scheduling.
- Schedule maintenance for compressors, dryers, pumps, valves, motors, electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Conduct routine system walkdowns to identify leaks, abnormalities, or operational issues.
- Plan and track PM tasks; ensure timely completion.
- Maintain a clean, professional facility environment.
- Respond quickly to call-outs to maintain compressed air supply uptime.
- Build and maintain strong vendor and contractor relationships.
- Follow Management of Change (MOC) protocols for system parameters and controls.
- Document maintenance tasks, hazards, inventory shortages, and performance notes in weekly reports.
- Travel to additional sites for construction, commissioning, or maintenance support.
Job Requirements
- Prefer Associate’s Degree in a technical field.
- Strong knowledge of compressed air systems, including centrifugal compressors, air dryers, instrumentation, and PLC/DCS controls.
- Practical understanding of electrical principles and safe electrical repair practices.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with industrial equipment maintenance.
- Ability to use or quickly learn facility software systems (MS Office required).
- Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting with customers and vendors.
- Up to 30% overnight travel required.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures; able to write reports and update documentation.
- Basic mathematical skills (percentages, proportions, area, volume).
- Strong reasoning skills in situations with limited standardization.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb ladders/platforms, use hands, reach, and operate a computer.
- Ability to hear abnormal equipment noises.
- Must wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves).
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts; moderate to high noise levels.
