Azure Cloud L3 Administrator / Engineer Role Overview The Azure Cloud L3 Administrator is responsible for advanced management, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise cloud environments hosted on Microsoft Azure. This includes infrastructure services, networking, security, automation, and hybrid integrations. The role requires deep expertise in Azure technologies, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to resolve complex issues independently while supporting enterprise‑scale deployments. Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 support for escalated incidents across Azure infrastructure and services.
- Manage and maintain Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments including VMs, storage, networking, and databases.
- Administer and optimize Azure Active Directory, RBAC, Conditional Access, and Identity Protection.
- Implement and manage Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, VPNs, ExpressRoute, Load Balancers).
- Perform patching, upgrades, and configuration management across Azure resources.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization for cloud workloads.
- Automate cloud operations using PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and high‑availability solutions in Azure.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure seamless cloud operations.
- Lead root cause analysis for critical incidents and document resolutions.
- Maintain knowledge base and documentation for configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Required Skills & Experience
- 7–12 years of experience in cloud administration with strong L3 expertise.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure services (VMs, Storage, Networking, Azure AD, App Services).
- Strong knowledge of Azure governance, policies, and compliance frameworks.
- Expertise in identity and access management within Azure AD.
- Experience with hybrid cloud setups (Azure + on‑premises integration).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Terraform, ARM templates).
- Solid understanding of cloud security, firewalls, and monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel).
- Ability to lead critical incident resolution and mentor junior administrators. Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate.
- Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized workloads.
- Exposure to multi‑cloud environments (AWS, GCP) for hybrid strategies.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
