ABOUT THE JOB The Global Technical Services organization (“GTS”) provides Infrastructure Engineering, Project Management and Administration for enterprise applications worldwide. The vision within GTS is to provide cutting-edge, cost-effective technology services and support based on a shared infrastructure, requiring adherence to common standards, policies, and security settings. The teams are globally aligned to leverage best practices, standards, and procedures on a worldwide basis. Within GTS, there is a Middleware (“MDM”) Group responsible for middleware platform administration, support, and integration of applications that use middleware platforms. The roles include middleware software platform infrastructure design, installation, configuration, upgrades, and application integration. Also, within MDM, there is a post-trade middleware team that provides all Backoffice and batch processing middleware messaging solutions and support for all middleware messaging system infrastructure and middleware applications to all AMER locations, including the United States, Canada, and South American offices. What will be your day-to-day -Design and installation of IBM MQ and/or Rabbit MQ, deploying enterprise applications, installation, and configuration -Provide second or third level support to applications and developers -Undertake documentation, tracking, and resolution of issues, monitor recurring issues, and suggest long-term solutions -Participate in and potentially lead projects to implement or enhance development services and automated solutions -Work closely with business and IT to develop cost-effective, operationally supportable solutions that meet complex requirements -Recommend and design new technologies and solutions, including hardware and software, and provide documentation for projects -Deliver assignments within specified time frames and adhere to all established standards and guidelines -Evaluate new technologies to solve business requirements Profile LANGUAGE: -Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required, as this position involves regular collaboration with colleagues and partners across international locations. What you bring to the team Required Technical Skills -2 to 5 years of experience in IBM MQ design, installation, fixpack upgrade, migration, and configuration -Middleware platform troubleshooting skills -Middleware platform installation, configuration, and upgrades -Analytical and debugging skills Desired / Plus -Python programming skills -Knowledge in micro-service development -Frequency trading environment experience -Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, etc.) -Design and architecture on middleware application platforms -Exposure to cloud computing practices -Experience with tools/platforms such as JIRA, Jenkins, Docker, Elasticsearch, and AWS -Knowledge in REST API development Competencies -Client-focused, with a strong customer service mentality and ability to work with developers, users, and other staff -Able to work independently and in a team environment while interacting across different groups to accomplish projects -Detail- and goal-oriented, with dedication to completing tasks -Ability to interact with other business lines, managers, technical staff, and senior management -Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral Educational Requirements -Minimum of BS in Computer Science and/or related Engineering technologies
